Abstract
The study examined the impact of use of renewable energy in Iraq and its impact on reducing the costs of environmental pollution resulting from the use of fossil fuel, as there is a global trend to use renewable energy as a major source of energy due to its low production costs and environmental effects. The problem of this study described throughout the high costs of the environmental impacts of the use of fossil fuel, as well as the decreasing global strategic stock of it. The study used the descriptive analytical method. And tested a main hypothesis that: The use of renewable energy affects the reduction of environmental pollution costs in Iraq. The study population is represented by the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy. The study concluded to a number of findings, including: Renewable energy plays an important role in supporting sustainable development, through achieving great economic and social gains and preserving the ecosystem. The study reached to a number of recommendations, including: The Iraqi government should focus investment in the field of renewable energy to build a sustainable economy away from fossil energy sources.
